Morphological Image Processing

Morphological image processing is an image processing tool for binary (black and white, or 0 and 1) images used for extracting and modifying information on the shapes and/or structures of the objects in the images. Morphological operators are:
          i) Dilation,
          ii) Erosion,
          iii) Skeletonization,
          iv) Opening,
          v) Closing.
The morphological operators are non-linear functions and are used for filtering, detection of edges, counting objects, image segmentation, noise reduction, finding mid-lines and object detection.
