Software for Video recording on EMs

In general, for video capture in electron microscopes, no extra hardware is required. Common video and image capture software are:
         i) Camtasia allows you to record the full-screen videos and images on PC monitor as you see them with 1920 x 1080 resolution. Versions for Mac and PC are available at www.techsmith.com/video-editor.html.
ii) VirtualDub is a video capture/processing utility for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms (98/ME/NT4/2000/XP/Vista/7) at www.virtualdub.org.
         iii) VideoStudio, see at www.videostudiopro.com/en/.
iv) Spacetime can be used to correlate microscopy images with some time-dependent external parameter at http://spacetime.uithetblauw.nl/.
         v) Gatan HD Video allows easy capturing of video data from Digital Micrograph.
vi) SerialEM has low-dose and high-resolution capabilities (http://bio3d.colorado.edu/SerialEM/). It costs about $10k in 2012.
vii) IMOD is pretty much the industry standard for 3D reconstruction, see http://bio3d.colorado.edu/imod/.
