Aluminum-lithium (Al-Li) based alloys have been suggested to be possible replacement alloys for the aircraft and aerospace industry. The strength is enhanced and the density is decreased in these alloys due to the addition of lithium, e.g. forming coherent δ’ (Al₃Li) precipitates in T₁ (Al₂CuLi) [1].
