| Hume-Rothery (HR) compounds are electronically stabilized. The stabilization mechanism induces a depletion at the Fermi energy (EF) in the DOS (density of state) that is called Hume-Rothery pseudo-gap. Examples of such compounds are Cu-Zn brass and Al-Cu alloys.
