Online book: Practical Electron Microscopy and Database, Yougui Liao (2007): Online
An experienced senior engineer and scientist with a PhD degree, I have worked extensively on characterizations of various materials using electron microscopes and related techniques to understand the problems in “native” materials and devices at various companies and universities for more than 20 years. I have fundamental understanding of the application advantages and limitations of microanalysis and instrumentation. My aim is to build a bridge between engineering and science. Engineering mostly asks what people want to do and suggests how to do it, while science mostly asks how things work and whether they work. This bridge is especially important when companies or research organizations need to develop new products or create new research projects with minimum cost and time, since if one does not know why a tool or material works, he/she cannot use it to its full capacity.
Electron Microscopy (EM) is a special tool for addressing these problems, and you can find out more at: www.globalsino.com/EM/.
Thanks to all my friends and readers who have given me invaluable comments and suggestions, and I look forward to hearing more from you through email: yougui.liao@globalsino.com or call and leave messages at: (1-208) 278-6096.
Because a lot of people ask me, I have to say that I’m sorry but the online book is not available in pdf format currently.
