DigitalMicrograph (DM) provides many features for particle analysis, e.g. by locating Analysis > Particles > Find Particles on GMS 3.x. With the DM software, the basic steps for analyzing particles are:
         i) Prepare the source image for particle analysis,
         ii) Threshold the source image,
         iii) Find the particles,
         iv) Analyze the particles.

On the other hand, particle analysis can also be performed by using scripts based on DM interface (e.g. searching particle analysis at page2597). In this case, more flexible functions can be built.
