Cross-Sections of Atom Displacement due to Electron Irradiation in Bulk

Typical displacement cross-sections (σ) of atoms in materials due to accelerating electron irradiation are 5 × 10−23 cm2, much smaller than ionization values. The cross section per atom for atom displacement in conducting bulk is from 10-23 to 10-22 cm2.
