In EELS acquisition, if there is a nonzero offset, the spectra can be too weak to be visible. Therefore, the Spectrum Offset needs to be turned off or set to 0.

If the EELS Energy Offset does not work, we need to check:
         i) The Spectrum Offset is turned on in the FilterControl software.
         ii) The connection between the Gatan Instrumentation Bin (GIB) and the TEM HT electronics is correct. The corresponding cable is a thin coaxial cable coming from a D-SUB 44 connector at the GIB side.

We need to recalibrate the condenser lens adjustment from the FilterControl software if the EEL specimen illumination changes when the spectrum offset is changed.
