=================================================================================

Mean free path (MFP) is an average distance, that an particle (e.g. electrons and ions ) travels within a material between events of a specific type, given by,

                     Mean free path -------------------------------------- [4475a]
                                  Mean Free Path -------------------------------------- [4475b]

where A - Atomic weight (g/mol)

          NA -- Avogadro’s number

          ρ -- Density of the material (g/cm3).

          σ -- Cross section of scattering (cm2)

          NV - The number of scatterers (atoms) per unit volume
